If you’re one of the many stylish men out there with a high fade or step haircut or some other old-timey ‘do in which your hair is super-short on the bottom and longer on top, consider taking a cue from hair god Colin Farrell when styling it tonight.
Instead of parting it on the side and loading it up with grooming wax or combing it forward like a Hedi Slimane-type fashion model, grab onto a whole bunch of hair oil or a flexible gel and comb it straight back. Normally this move is reserved for 30-year-olds who want to look like 50-year-olds (you know the type) but since you’ve got that punk-rock haircut, it has a totally different effect.
There are three other Farrell-inspired things you may want to do before stepping out with your fantastic hair tonight. 1.) Swing by the barber for a fresh trim so the contrast is as sharp as Farrell’s here, 2.) Skip your usual post-shower shave. A little bit of stubble looks pretty good with this cut. 3.) Pull on a stretched-out Henley instead of something that’s going to make you look like a fashion nut.
Saturday on.
