Channing Tatum has a new hair color and it's really really good. Yesterday, from Peru, the actor posted a masterfully composed selfie to his Instagram feed. In the photo he's wearing a simple white T-shirt and beaming like someone made of pure sunshine. He's also sporting what looks like a much blonder hairstyle than we're used to seeing on the Magic Mike star. South America looks beautiful and all, but Tatum's hair and his healthy glow are way more FOMO inducing than the paradise in the background. Is this a filter? And if not, how did he get even more handsome than before?
Two key things are at play here. One, Tatum's hair is a very subtle shade of blonde. Two, it's cut short and tight to his head. The combination of these things makes his hair look modern, expensive, and yet, somehow badass. To achieve the same sun-drenched follicle effect, ask your hairstylist for a blonde that's multidimensional instead of one flat color. Tatum's is a natural golden blonde with lowlights and highlights throughout. So, if you're thinking of taking the plunge, stay within a few shades of your own natural color—that will keep contrasting highlights from going all zebra stripe.
And remember: any time you strip your hair of color it will get dry. To keep it looking healthy you need to add that moisture back in by using a regular conditioning treatment and a color safe shampoo.
