It only takes a few minutes with the king of cashmere Brunello Cucinelli to be reminded that some things are just better in Italy. Like breakfast: “I like to have cookies in the morning before I go swimming,” says Cucinelli. “I had a very simple life growing up in the farm country outside of Perugia, and biscotti and warm milk with a tiny bit of coffee were a big part of my morning ritual before walking to school.” The second most indulgent part of Cucinelli’s morning is his grooming routine, thanks to a few luxury essentials. (La Prairie, anyone?) Here’s what you’d find in the designer’s bathroom:
The Hair: “A friend of my suggested Phytonectar shampoo some years ago and I have never changed. I feel like my hair is more manageable.”
The Face: “I use a caviar–based face cream from La Prairie. Their line of creams and serums is for long-term skincare, and everything is research–backed. The creams always perform.”
The Shave: “I shave everyday with an ancient manual razor. It was my father’s and I love it.”
The Body: “I like La Prarie Shower Gel.”
The Fragrance: “For forty years I’ve worn the same Azzaro Uomo fragrance. (Ed note: In the U.S. it’s Azzaro Pour Homme.) I have always felt that it is a fragrance close to my personality—I don’t know why exactly. I wear it twice or three times a day.”
The Tools: “I love the bathroom towels from Asciugamani Bellora.”
