Italians may be the masters of tailoring, but the shows in Milan felt like a giant unbutton-and-exhale at the dinner table—looser, longer coats, basics like shorts and cardigans, and pants with a little more crinkle to them. Hair got a welcome breather, too: most of the styles were mussed up and free, a far cry from the severe side parts and teased out pompadours we’ve seen in seasons past.
