One of the many nuggets of wisdom the folks at Google were able to drop on the Internet this week with the release of their 2015 Beauty Trends Report was that men are now using the Internet more than women to search for hairstyle advice. But the increasingly popular man bun can't take all the credit for that—search volume for the comb over rose by 51% this year alone. If you know a Don Draper type, you know the look—it’s long on top, short on bottom, highly groomed, and severely parted.
So who do these comb over enthusiasts consider to have the best version of the cut? These are the three most commonly searched names.
Cristiano Ronaldo, particularly over the summer.
Justin Timberlake, especially in the beginning of the year.
David Beckham, forever and always.
Box haircuts, Caesar haircuts, slicked-back undercuts, and Afro fades have also made dents in the world of men’s cuts, but none has come close to garnering the same interest as the comb over. Until Beckham changes his hair, none probably will.
