There are three types of gym bags in this world: Sad, overstuffed tote bags carried by folks who go to the gym maybe twice a week, great-looking if slightly spend-y bags you read about on GQ.com (Toubadour barrel bag FTW), and those giant black nylon duffles reserved for guys who buy protein powder in bulk and go into panic mode when they miss out on “leg day”. It’s no surprise that Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock, designed that last type of gym bag when he collaborated with Under Armour this month. For one, a big guy presumably needs a big bag for his big stuff and for another, he’s a retired professional wrestler. So, c’mon.

If you suffer from the same bad bag issues as Bradley Cooper, consider the fact that this bag is roughly the same size as your average weekender—so you should probably know our position on whether or not you should buy one. But, in The Rock’s defense, it looks like he really took his time with it—apparently the Project Rock bag was 18 months in the making. It has something like 9 different pockets. It doubles as a backpack. The bottom and the interior of the bag is coated in plastic so things don’t gross. As far as ubiquitous black duffles go, it’s well thought out.

We respectfully disagree with Johnson that this bag is the #GBOAT (Greatest Bag of all Time) but we acknowledge that he’s about to make a lot of gym rats, professional athletes, and American dads very happy. So, rock on.
